Dryer, Less Dust, Greater Moisture Absorbance, And With Natural Deodorising Properties. - Biodegradable Pine Wood Pellets for Your Cat Litter
Wood pellets have also been found to be excellent for cat and kitty litter, and animal bedding. Because pellets are dry they provide superior absorption of both wetness and odours associated with urine. Pellets expand when exposed to liquid water and will absorb their own volume of moisture. At the same time, the wood’s natural deodorising properties are initiated and dramatically reduce the odour associated with housed animals, and release the natural fresh scent of pine. Tests show that wood pellets absorb more moisture and at a faster rate than clay or paper products.
Wood pellets used for cat litter also must meet stringent dust and fines specifications, so wood pellets as cat litter have lower dust levels and no mineral dust found in most clay litters. This makes it non-irritable to both animals and humans.
It is very easy to identify areas in the litter that have been soiled, as the pellets dramatically expand and fluff-up. These areas can then be scooped out of the litter box, so less litter is needed as only the soiled pellets are removed. |

I own and operate Cats ‘n Clover, a popular boarding cattery business at Horsham Downs in Hamilton North.
Bruce at Wood Pellet Fuels Ltd has been my supplier of pinewood pellets (which I use in the cat’s litter trays) since May 2010.
I find the pellets are great in the litter trays; they quickly absorb moisture, and the wood smell helps to reduce animal waste odour. Our litter trays are easy to clean, and the residual sawdust, which has no nasty chemicals, is used in the garden as mulch (once solids are removed), so they are great for the environment too. I don’t need to use a lot, only 1 cupful per cat per day is ample, so that helps to keep costs down. I also on-sell the pellets to many happy cat’s owners, direct from the cattery.
In terms of service, I have always found Bruce a pleasure to deal with; he is courteous, efficient, and accessible. He always delivers the product promptly and as arranged.
I am extremely happy to recommend his services and his product to all. I can be contacted at Cats ‘n Clover Boarding Cattery, 136a Osborne Road, RD1, Horsham Downs, Hamilton, phone 07 8294944.
Kind regards Sue Meredith

Thank you to Bruce at Wood Pellet Fuel for producing such a versatile product. Not only producing, but being able to deliver locally and even put it in the shed for us.
As a private breeding cattery, we use the pine pellets as kitty litter for the cats. It is versatile and extremely easy to use. So easy that even two partially sighted cat breeders (in different locations) use it full time in their catteries. We have it outside in the boys quarters, and in the house with the girls. Even kittens of 6 weeks are happy to get in and use it.
The cats use it - the solid waste goes into a plastic bag and out to the rubbish (or if you are in a hurry, down the toilet). The sawdust goes into a soil sieve (or slotted peg basket), is shaken out and the sawdust goes into the bucket below and the solid pellets stay in the shaker. The clean pellets go into a separate bucket until you have finished shaking the sawdust out and then they can go back into a fresh litter tray.
The sawdust is then totally recyclable - on the garden as mulch (makes weeding so much easier!) or into the compost bins to lighten the compost mix and to grow good veges. It has reduced our major weed sessions to twice a year, and because of the sawdust mulch, the weeds are so much easier to pull out, they are just sitting in the mulch.
We enjoy using it so much that we promote it to our new kitten parents, we have fellow breeders and friends all using it as kitty litter. We give out samples to new parents, and we use it at Cat Shows when we attend.
Congratulations to Bruce and Co, and long may our association continue.

As a breeders of Burmese; we have been using wood pellets from Bruce at "Wood Pellet Fuel", for cat litter since March 2010.
It works out the most cost effective litter I have ever used. Is clean, reduces smell, is extremely absorbent and with little or no tracking.
Wood pellets are easy to dispose of, as being natural it makes an excellent garden mulch.
I recommend wood pellets to all my pet owners. Further to this Bruce has always been pleasant to deal with.
Thanks Bruce for continuing to supply me with this fantastic product.
Yours sincerely Alice McRobbie
